Aldi deep fryer recall

The discount grocer has recalled its Ambiano mini deep fryers because the heating element within can overheat and catch fire.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that Aldi has received three reports of fire and minor property damage after the deep fryers caught on fire. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

The deep fryers were sold nationwide at Aldi stores in two colors — brushed stainless steel (pictured above) and red — from February 2018 to March 2018 for around $15.

Look for the following UPC numbers on the bottom of the unit to determine if yours is part of this recall:

Color/Model Barcode
Stainless Steel Ambiano Mini Deep Fryer 20072483
Red Ambiano Mini Deep Fryer 20072490

Should you discover you have one of these deep fryers at home, stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Aldi store for a full refund.
