BAKER COUNTY, Fla. -- The Baker County Sheriff's Office said it is no longer searching for a possible abduction suspect after determining that the incident was a misunderstanding.

Sheriff Joey Dobson told Action News the search was called off just before 10 p.m. The Baker County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect in the case and investigators determined that there was in fact no attempted abduction.

An 11-year-old girl had told investigators  earlier in the day that a man parked his pickup truck, got out and pointed a gun in her direction and told her to come across the street to his location.  Instead, deputies say she ran into her house. It was determined the man was trying to sell peanuts.

What about the original allegation this man had a gun and pointed it at the little girl? Just because a man is know to sell peanuts doesn't mean he couldn't / didn't have a gun. And if this little girl was exaggerating her story, then that should come to light as well.
