JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man arrested for the death of Janay Jackson, a teen who died after a car crashed into her bedroom, was in court Saturday morning.

A judge ordered Ismet Sijamhodzic, 51, held on 250 thousand dollars bond for vehicular homicide.

He was arrested Friday night.

Police say on August 28, Sijamhodzic drove his Ford minivan through a stop sign and straight into Jackson's bedroom, who was asleep at the time.

Jackson, a Wolfson senior with a promising future, died just hours later in the hospital from her injuries.

Blood tests reveal Sijamhodzic had both Xanax and marijuana in his system. He also admitted to police he had not slept for three days prior to the crash.

Sijamhodzic remains in the Duval County jail.

His next court appearance is scheduled for October 8th.

ANYTIME you 'mix' drugs whether prescribed or not, (but especially without a Doctor's prescription)you are taking a dangerous risk. MANY people are on medical marijuana in this country, BUT TO MIX IT WITH ANYTHING is what ruins it as a safe and proven needed chemical that many patients need. AND ALWAYS should be used under a close Doctors care. To MANY people it is a miracle drug, like aspirin is to millions, but to SOME, it should never be used or prescribed..EITHER WAY, MIXING DRUGS KILLS. And sleep deprivation ALONE can kill...So sad for this girls family...just because GROWN ADULTS abuse drugs and then get behind a wheel. He needs prison time for this no doubt.
