NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- Sheriff Bill Leeper says a suspect is dead after being shot by a Nassau County deputy Monday morning.

The shooting took place around 11 a.m. at the North Hampton subdivision near Yulee.

According to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office, neighbors called deputies saying the man tried to break in homes and cars in the neighborhood.

Deputies said the suspect and the deputy got into an argument after the deputy confronted the suspect.

The Sheriff's Office said the deputy shot the suspect and died.

The deputy is currently at Baptist Medical Center Nassau for minor injuries. He is expected to be OK.

PLEASE HIRE A COMPETANT PROOF READER AT SOME POINT. either that or change the heading becasue to me "the deputy shot the suspect and died" means the deputy died... is that in fact what happened? Also again with no description or detail. Wat up wif dat really doh??? Not sure of the Nassau County deps but Ill tell you what, Jax and Clay have some great guys out there and thank GOD we do. The rest of this country is suffering from some of the worse criminal police actions and small peckered cops that need to take it out on the public so be greatful we are not in that situation. It can make for a TERRIBLE day dealing with one of those guys!
