Firefighter jumps to escape flames
JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Two firefighters were injured after responding to a house fire Thursday night.
The fire broke out on the second-floor at a two-story home at 6556 Utsey Road just after 8 p.m.
The firefighters went to a second-floor bedroom where flames reignited.
One escaped through a window. The other made back to the front door. Both were taken to UF Health with non-life-threatening injuries.
It took firefighters about 45 minutes to get the fire out.
No one else was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown. The state fire marshall is investigating.
