JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars released defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey, according to a posting on Twitter just minutes ago.
The team has not said why.
The Jaguars benched Mincey earlier this year when he slept in and missed a team function.
Mincey has been with the team the past seven seasons, piling up two sacks and 16 tackles this year. He starred at the University of Florida.
The Jaguars are hosting the Buffalo Bills this weekend. The team is riding a 3-game win streak.
Our crews are at EverBank Field, trying to get reaction from players.
