JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Action News is getting the first look at proposed changes to The Jacksonville Landing.

The owner of the Landing is meeting with members of the Downtown Investment Authority at this hour.

"You're going to see a great, great plan where there will be housing, and retail and a hotel," Mayor Brown told Action News. "My priority is the Landing."

The cost of the renovations and who will pay for them are not yet known.

I loved going there years ago, pulling the boat up or just driving down and enjoying ourselfs but until you get the undersirables and just plain thugs out off there, i wouldn't take my wife or ralatives from out of town back to the landing. People don't use the trash cans, instead they just throw the things on the ground like it isn't nothing. Clean the place up and maybe have a cover charge would help keep out the bad elements. Just saying......

I like the Landing just the way it is. But I am sure I will like the new Landing even better. I am a Native of Jax. I have seen a lot of changes. I think this will be a positive move forward.
