JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police say the mother of three missing children from Miami rented a car at the Jacksonville International Airport.
According to the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department, 32-year-old Carrie Weingarth and her boyfriend, Christian Coello, rented a 2014 Jeep Patriot at the Enterprise at JIA.
Both are believed to have traveled near Walker, La., according to police.
Police said the Jeep is dark blue and has a Florida tag that reads 476HXS.
A missing child alert was issued for three kids believed to have been last seen in Columbia County.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says Erin Pena, 12, Steven Pena, 8, and Derick Pena, 7, initially disappeared from the Miami area. Weingarth was with them, according to the release. They also said they were last seen at a movie theater on U.S. 90 in Lake City.
Erin had on a blue polo shirt, khaki pants and tennis shoes that were orange and gray, FDLE said. Clothing descriptions for the other children were not released. All the kids are between 3 feet 6 inches tall and 4 feet 2 inches tall. Erin and Derick are listed with brown hair and eyes, while Steven is listed with black hair.
