JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are searching for a group of men allegedly responsible for shooting two men in Arlington Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say the men were shot in a parking lot on the 2900 block of Townsend Boulevard during an argument between two groups.

"Two parties that knew each other had a meeting. A fight ensued and during that fight, gunfire was exchanged between two parties," said JSO Sgt. Bobby Lyle.

JSO detectives tell Action News the victims were rushed to Shands Jacksonville and are expected to survive. Witnesses spotted three or four men running from the scene. Police are reviewing surveillance video.

"Right now, it looks like they knew each other. That's what we think," said Lyle, "But we have no idea what the fight may have been over."

Police recovered one handgun from the shooting scene in the parking lot outside the Townsend Food Mart, but made no arrests.

My son was shot in this incident as he stopped to put oil in his truck after visiting his family member. The people robbed my son and friend, they did not know each other. I believe it to be irresponsible of JSO and news to make statements without knowledge. Both boys are fighting for their lives. We have vowed to stay out of Arlington, as well as other sections of Jacksonville. This is a tragedy for our families and misinformation makes it worse. The response time for this crime riddled area is the same as any other crime riddled areas in our beautiful city. Investigate, get these cowards with nothing to lose off the street. No one would help, but everyone had time to stop and watch. Where is this city's humanity. Shameful, all of it.

I live about 2 minutes away from that store, and yes, we do have a lot MORE crime here, than we used to. Car break ins, too.

2 parties had a "meeting" at this shopping center~Quite suspicious. Ah, more drama in "Historical" Arlington. A question from a reporter~"is this a problem area~high crime area?" Spokesman's answer~not that we are aware of. Good side step. Hope they find these guys ASAP.
