SWAT stand off ends peacefully, suspect in custody

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An armed robbery suspect is in custody after police say he held up an Advance America Advanced Cash near W 103rd St and Blanding Blvd.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team was called to 5436 Blanding Boulevard Wednesday afternoon after someone heard a woman scream inside Advance America.

According to police, a man entered the store armed with a gun. When police arrived, the suspect was inside with two people.  He allowed both of them to leave without incident.

JSO blocked off W 103rd St between Jammes Road and Blanding Boulevard during the standoff causing major traffic back ups.  The roads are back open.

It took police two hours to talk the suspect out of the store where he was then taken into custody.
