JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Parts of Gate Parkway were blocked for more than three hours Sunday after a guard at the FBI building reported a suspicious package.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said around 3:20 p.m. the bomb squad responded after a woman left a package without the guard's consent.

JSO said the only person in the building was the security guard. The building is closed weekends.

"They apparently came earlier, attempted to drop it off, they were told that the complex was closed and they needed to come back after the holiday tomorrow, and they came back two hours later and decided to drop it off anyway," said Sgt. JK Lentz.

According to Lentz the package was X-rayed and the bomb squad determined it was a stack of books with a note to one of the agents.

The FBI has the woman’s car tag and could potentially press federal charges.

JSO said they do not know what was written on the note.
