MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- The lockdown at Doctors Inlet Elementary has now been lifted. The school was temporarily on lockdown due to a nearby armed robbery.

Deputies say the robbery happened around 7:20 a.m. Thursday in the Evergreen subdivision off County Road 220. They are still searching for two suspects in the area of College Ave. and Blanding Blvd. The pair reportedly kicked in the front door of a home in the subdivision as a family was getting ready for the day.

Again, the search for the suspects continues, but the lockdown at Doctors Inlet Elementary has been lifted.

Follow-up on this story is severly lacking. It is an unusual event for an armed robbery to occur at a private residence at 0730 (ish) in the morning. There is more than likely something not being revealed or disclosed.
