GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The family of Christian Aguilar held a news conference Saturday to share their belief that human remains found in Levy County are their missing son's. They also took the time to thank the community for their help in the search, and for the support they've received.

Hunters came across those human remains Friday afternoon.

The Levy County Sheriff's Office requested that the Gainesville Police Department involve themselves in the investigation.

Positive identification of the remains cannot be made until forensic processing is completed.

The Gainesville Police Department on October 2nd asked that hunters in North-Central Florida be on the lookout for anything unusual.

Christian Aguilar, 18, was last seen on September 20th. The chief suspect in the case, Predo Bravo, remains behind bars in the Alachua County jail charged with Aguilar's kidnapping and murder.

The Aguilar family has been updated on the finding.
