JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Huron Apartments in Northwest Jacksonville were evacuated and the bomb squad called in overnight following a shooting that killed a man while he was driving. That car crashed into the building.

JSO believed there was an explosive device, like a grenade, in the car based on information from neighbors. Sgt. Jay Farhat said, "if there is a type of grenade or explosive device we need to ensure everybody's safety first. Once that's done then we can proceed with our investigation." Police later determined there was no grenade or explosive of any sort.

Residents that live in the apartment building started being let back in around 2:15 a.m.
