In a cell phone video captured by a trembling witness, patrons poured out of the movie theater, escaping the terror brought on by the alleged shooter, James Holmes. In the video, a couple Dark Knight movie-goers got into character dressing up as Batman. Hundreds of other fans from across the country also dressed up for the premiere.
Although Holmes was not in costume, it's reported that he hid four guns under body armor. Some of you wanted to know if weapon-concealing costumes should be banned from the movies.
“I think if you are going to booby trap your apartment and be armed with four guns, come with a gas mask to protect you from the tear gas that you're dumping. Me telling you you can't wear a costume is not going to stop a mentally ill person,” said David-Massett.
The movie theater owner says dressing up for film is a way to escape reality. And that reality shouldn't lead to fear.
“If you're scared to go to the movie theater, you also should be scared to go to the grocery store, Home Depot, probably shouldn't go to the public park,” said David-Massett.
