JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man has been convicted on an armed robbery charge after a 2010 gas station robbery.

In January 2010, Leon Madden walked into the Kangaroo gas station on State Road A1A and took a 24-pack of beer. A clerk tried to stop him on his way out and Madden turned around and threatened the clerk with a handgun.

The 29-year-old is a prison release re-offender. He was convicted in 2004 on a charge of attempted home invasion robbery. He now faces mandatory life in prison.

His sentencing date will be set on November 13, 2012.
