Brunswick Coast Guard gets new boat
BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- The Brunswick Coast Guard is getting a new boat.
A ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 28th at 11 a.m. at the Coast Guard Station.
The new 45-foot boat will replace the 1970's-era 41-foot Utility boat currently being used.
The RB-M is equipped with new state of-the-art technology such as an all aluminum construction, electronics for better control, extra crew comfort and twin jet propulsion.
The boat will be faster and also has a self-righting prowess, allowing it to operate more efficiently in severe weather conditions and higher seas.
This will allow members of the Coast Guard to respond more quickly and adequately.
