Brunswick men sentenced in home invasion

BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Two Glynn County men have been charged in a home-invasion robbery.

District Attorney Jackie Johnson announced the conviction of Octavious Johnson, 20, of Brunswick in Glynn County Superior Court on Sept. 7, 2012 James Bryson, also 20 and of Brunswick, on Sept. 12, 2012.

Johnson pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault with Intent to Rob, Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery and Two Counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bryson pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault with Intent to Rob, Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery and Possession of Cocaine.

The charges stem from a home invasion robbery that occurred at Glynn Marsh Court in Brunswick on Dec. 22, 2011. The victim was shot twice in the arm and once in the chest with an AK-47 assault rifle. The victim was treated at Southeast Georgia and survived his injuries.

Judge Stephen G. Scarlett sentenced Octavious Johnson to 20 years in prison, followed by 10 years on probation.
