GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- A fight over cigarettes lead to a brutal beating at a local grocery store.

On January 20, at 9 p.m., officers were called to Rick's Supermarket on New Jesup Highway.

The owner, 40-year-old Paresh Patel reported being beaten and robbed by two men.

According to the report, the two suspects entered the store and tried to buy cigarettes using an EBT card.  The owner told them they could not buy cigarettes with the EBT card.

Police say the suspects began beating Mr. Patel.  One of the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.  One of the suspects fled in a light blue car.  The other took off running.

The whole thing happened in front of the owner's two young children.

Police officers later located a car matching the description of the suspect's car at the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park.  Police arrested Derek Walker, 22, and Javon Richardson, 24.  Both men live in Yulee.

Richardson and Walker both face charges of aggravated assault, cruelty to children and robbery.
