Rutherford was elected to protect us not manage his claims. The previous risk manager was actually implementing a program to cut down on the heart and hypertension claims with the rehab center. But the media twisted it as personal fitness centers. Twaine is probably paying everything and not "managing" the risks. What is his insurance background?

This is what you get when the electorate is uneducated and ill-informed. We see the same results in the goverment. We as citizens of jacksonville MUST get informed about those running for elected office and thier qualifications and experience to hold these positions.

As I see it, JSO doesn't need as many officers on the street as there are. Every time I am near an accident I see anywhere from 5 to 15 officers just standing around talking. Those officers we do have need more training in public relations and gun use. Our JSO seems to be very trigger happy and our swat team seems to get a lot of practice. Clean up your own house Rutherford, then see if you have enough funds for what is needed, not what is wanted.

The root cause of the "War of Words" is very basic. Its a City Government in confused turmoil. From the embarrassing letter to Shad Khan to the repetitive levels of indecision and irresponsible budgeting and spending, the City clearly lacks responsible, competent LEADERSHIP.

The Sheriff holds the city hostage and if he doesn't get his way he's not going to do his job. The Sheriff's Office serves and protects The Sheriff's Office. Last year while laying off police and community officers many of his top cops in the click got 15 thousand dollar raises .Rutherford put his self in the position he's in with his over hiring , jso navey,jso airforce,jso homeland security,3 thousand dollar bikes,golf carts, and gross mismanagement of personnel ,and funds.The city has spent millions paying off lawsuits generated by the jso and have about 40 pending.Sheriff Rutherford should pay for his mistakes not the tax payer's.Finance Chairman John Crescimbeni is doing his job, Its time for Rutherford to do his or step down.
