JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An investigation is underway after more than 7,000 gallons of fuel spilled at JIA Saturday.

Airport officials tell Action News a tank on one of the fuel truck's was punctured as it made it's way to the tarmac causing the fuel to spill out.

JIA's own fire department, JFRD and Hazmat were called to the scene.

Crews were able to prevent the fuel from running down into the drains.  They will be checking the drains on Sunday just to be sure.

Flights and other airport operations were not affected.
