JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man was sentenced to two life terms for his involvement in a 2009 armed robbery.

Terrence Hightower, 34, was sentenced to two life terms without the possibility of parole. He was convicted in January on two counts of armed robbery.

In April 2009, Hightower held up a man and a woman walking to their car on Margaret Street. Police say Hightower approached the couple, pointed a handgun, and demanded their purse and wallet. Hightower then fled from the area.

Hightower is a habitual felony offender with two burglary convictions in Volusia County. He is also a prison release re-offender having committed the armed robbery within three years of being released from prison.
