GAINESVILLE Fla.-- Police now believe that 18-year old missing UF student, Christian Aguilar may be lying injured in a wooded area.
He was last seen Thursday near Streits Motorsports on Northwest 14th Street in Gainesville, where police say he got in a fight with another student and person of interest, Pedro Bravo. Bravo told police he may have left Aguilar hurt on the side of the road.
"Injuries were probably sustained from the fight," said Officer Ben Tobias with the Gainesville Police Department. "Obviously we want to find him as quick as possible but obviously not knowing what his injuries are we want to find him that much quicker."
Bravo is being questioned by police and has been transferred to a mental institution.
Meanwhile, Christian's father, Carlos Aguilar searches for answers and for words as he also searches to find his missing son.
"Am I going to find him," he wondered. "And is he suffering out there?"
Action News has learned that Aguilar had hopes of becoming a biomedical engineer.
"He wanted to be able to make things for people that were disabled," said his father.
Dogs, detectives, a private search team from Orlando and Aguilar's extended family from Miami are searching 75 acres of Gainesville woods. It's a search that will last into the night.
"I already made my mind until l find him I'm not going back," said Christian's father. "It doesn't matter how much it takes I don't care if I have to do it by myself or not."
Christian is a hispanic male who is about 5 ft. 10 in. and 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and grey striped hoodie.
The Aguilar family is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to finding Christian.
