JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Order is restored at EverBank Field.
Thousands packed the stands tonight to see the Big Cats in action.
"As usual, I hope we make it to the Super Bowl," 10-year-old fan Troy LeMay said.
The renewed energy and excitement is undeniable. We felt it everywhere we went, from the young fans to the older generation. Some have never been prouder to wear black and teal.
"We have a very good opportunity to show the rest of the world and the rest of the United States that always put the Jaguars down, we are a team to be reckoned with," Johnny Dearborne said.
Georgiana Mason is a newbie. It's her first jags game, but she's not wasting any time. She decided to sit down front and bring her 3-year-old along for the fun.
"Just seeing the cheerleaders, the band, all that...the excitement of the game. I'm excited for the new season," she said.
Preseason is still a week away, but the momemtum has been building for months. There's a new owner, a new coach...and higher morale in the locker room.
From billboards to TV commercials. You name it, people are noticing.
"We're All In. Go Jaguars!" one fan yelled.
Overall, the scrimmage had a good turnout. It was encouraging to see everyone decked out and ready to display their pride. The push is on to avoid blackouts and make Jacksonville a nationwide name.
With renewed spirits, a big time schedule and an improved game day experience...fans say it looks like we're off to a good start.
"Every time they come out on the field, I'm going to come watch them play," Dearborne said with a smile.
The Jaguars kick off their preseason at home against the Super Bowl Champion Giants next Friday, Aug. 10.
