Florida ranks third in the nation for amount of veteran-owned businesses

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A report by the U.S. Small Business Administration ranks Florida third nationally for the greatest number of veteran-owned businesses.

The U.S. SBA Office of Advocacy reports that Florida is home to 176,727 veteran-owned businesses which employee over 310,000 workers.

An estimated annual revenue of $61.9 billion is produced by these businesses.  

Not only are Veterans owning more businesses they also continue to find jobs in the workplace.

The 2011 Veterans unemployment rate declined -1.5 percent from the previous year.
