Floridians struggle to apply for unemployment benefits
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Thousands of Floridians are struggling to apply for jobless benefits.
This comes following last week's launch of a new $60 million computer system designed to handle the claims.
The department of economic opportunity says it's added 150 operators to handle the frustrated callers.
DEO's executive director says overall, the system is working and processed more than 100,000 claims in the first week alone.
