Nothing on television is real. We cant even count on our news channels to tell us true stories... this is way too exagerated. All you who helped make this fony report/broadcast should really go breath under water. We dont need people like you in this world. Its bad enough when you lie to one person but a whole state? And country??? There is no such thing as a "cottonmouth" that weighs even 20 lbs so for you to lie and say it weighed 87 is beyond ignorant. You guys dont even have the integrity to go out there and take your own pictures of this so called "water moccasin" and to put a picture on the television that has been passed around from mobile phone to mobile phone weeks even months before this snake was "found" (according to all you ingnorant news reporters) is just plane sad. Is this what you all went to school for?? So you can lie to the people?? This just shows how we cant even trust our own news channels. Obviously most of you have a hard time reading, It never said it was 9ft long or that it was a rattle snake hybrid, And as far as keeping venomus snakes as pets its against the law in almost every state, and for the guy who says they won't chase you he obviously has never encountered one or has read to many books.They will come off the bank and try to climb in your boat and they will chase you 10 to 15 ft before they back off. I have grew up in the woods and rivrs all my life and have seen many over 5.5 feet and some as big around as a summer sausage. Due to the color, body thickness, lack of rattles, and extremely diamond-shaped head, I'd have to say it's a large Cottonmouth Moccasin. It's not NEARLY as big as it looks, as the "blade" appears to be on a "Bobcat-type" piece of equipment, and CERTAINLY NOT on a full-sized site-prep "Root-Rake" !!!! - THIS IS SOOOOO LUDICROUS !!!! About 3 or 4 weeks ago I got a "text-photo" of this snake from a friend who stated it was killed on Cowhouse Island, GA, during site/prep/tree planting. I was asked the species - looking closely I "ID'd" it as a Cottonmouth Moccasin [AT LEAST THEY GOT THAT RIGHT !!!!!] However, I cautioned that one needed to MEASURE BETWEEN THE TEETH of the heavy equipment "blade" to accurately estimate the length. ALLL OF A SUDDEN it was killed "THIS WEEK" in Baldwin Co. FL !!!!! I am afraid the "RUMOR-MILL" has only begun to OVERFLOW !!!! SAD that the facts are being ignored and "supposition" and "factual info" is being ignored !!!!
