JEA investigating water meter break-ins

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Electrical Authority is investigating a string of break-ins involving water meters.

JEA spokeswoman Gerri Boyce tells Action News several water meter vaults were broken into and the vandals also tampered with the meters in several locations. The utility company is working to fix the damaged meters.

JEA is also contacting proper authorities to help in the investigation.
