JSO officer honored for heroism
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A JSO officer who showed courage during a shooting inside a local store received a medal of merit today.
Sheriff John Rutherford honored patrol officer Jose Ruiz.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Ruiz chased an armed suspect who was firing a handgun inside a Walgreens last July. The store was full of shoppers.
