JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars signed first-year fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou to the active roster from their practice squad and released center/guard Steve Vallos, the club announced today.

Ta’ufo’ou, 5-11, 247, spent the first eight weeks of the season on the Jaguars’ practice squad after being waived on final cuts.  He has also spent time with Chicago, Cleveland, Denver and Tennessee.  He entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Bears in 2009 where he spent the entire season on the club’s practice squad.  He has also spent time on the Browns and Broncos practice squads.

A four-year letterman at California, Ta’ufo’ou played in 49 games with 13 starts.   He helped pave the way for three 1,000-yard rushers that are currently in the NFL in Marshawn Lynch, Justin Forsett and Jahvid Best.   He played linebacker and fullback at St. Francis High School in San Carlos, California.

Ta’ufo’ou will wear jersey number 45.
