ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A man on trial for the murder of his grandmother was found guilty and received a death penalty recommendation from the jury.

It took the jury one hour and fifteen minutes to determine the fate of Timothy Fletcher.

Fletcher was charged with first-degree murder for an incident back in 2009. He and his partner Doni Brown used a jack to escape from the Putnam County Jail. Police say Fletcher then strangled his 66-year-old step-grandmother and stole her car during a home invasion.

The two made it to Kentucky before they were caught.

The judge still has the final say on the sentence. A decision will be made in another hearing.

I love that movie, 'Mud in the tires? How do you get mud in the tires?....but more seriously, how can anyone murder their own Granny? Sick sob's on the loose in this world. I keep my Ruger with me every step I take in my home, not that I would ever have to worry about my God fearing grandchildren, but for someone else's thug man/child who doesn't fear God.
