KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. – On an early September night, people flooded the stands of the Keystone Heights high school football field expecting to see an exciting game, but they left only remembering one play.

"All the moms are always waiting for the big play,” said Karen Miller.

The Keystone Heights Indians were taking on Fernandina Beach. It was a game they weren’t expected to win.

And then this…

"It came out from behind me and I just kept running full speed, popped it up behind me, and somehow caught it,” Keystone Heights Quarterback Evan Harvey describes.

Harvey then ran the ball scoring his very first running touchdown of the season.

His family caught the craziness all on tape.

"We're all playing it back, people in the stands were coming up wanting us to replay it saying ‘let me see that again, let me see it again. It was the play of the day," Miller said.

But it wasn’t just the play of the day, according to CBS sports MaxPreps it was the “Top Play of the Year.”

Harvey’s epic touchdown beat out every other high school play in the country.

"The first thing the coach said when he came up to me was, “first of all don't ever do that again, second of all that was a really good play,” Harvey said.

It was accidentally amazing.

The perfect Christmas gift to send this senior out in style.

"Just to see your boy on there and all these people seeing him, it's just very nice, very very nice.” Miller said.

The family plans to hang the “Top Play” plaque at a Keystone Heights restaurant so the entire community can enjoy it.

Evan hopes to play college football. He’s currently getting ready to play in the January All-Star game in Georgia.
