Local mother murdered
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police say it was no accident and they're hunting a killer.
Homicide investigators from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are trying to figure out who killed Traci Wright a few miles from her Westside home.
A JTA bus driver noticed the 42-year-old woman’s body along the roadside near the corner of Broadway and Baker Avenue early Monday morning.
Investigators called to the scene at 5 a.m. say she appeared to have suffered some sort of head trauma.
Now homicide investigators are trying to figure out why and how.
JSO Lt. Rob Schoonover told Action News, "Some witnesses say they heard gunshots earlier around 2 o'clock. We don't know if they're connected or not. [The gunshots] possibly could be."
Police are telling us they need your help to find her killer. If you know anything, call the Duval county crime stoppers at 1-866-854-tips.
