Local park goes to the dogs
Jacksonville, Fla.-- Metropolitan Park went to the dogs Saturday and it was all for a good cause.
It's part of No More Homeless Pets' ninth annual Dogtoberfest. More than 1,000 people and animals attended the fundraiser downtown. Canines big and small even wore their Halloween best.
All of the money raised will be used to save as many animals in Jacksonville as possible. "Spay and neuter is the solution and adopt, don't shop. We hope to become no-kill by 2014," said Diane Wiles with No More Homeless Pets.
Dogtoberfest normally raises around $30,000. Organizers hope to bring in more this year.
