Man arrested in Lake City bank robbery
LAKE CITY -- A man has been arrested on charges of robbing a TD Bank on Thursday.
According to police, 60-year-old Domingo Castro entered the bank at at 160 N.W. Main Blvd. about 2:50 p.m. and presented a note to the cashier. The note alleged he had a gun and was robbing the bank. The suspect then placed all the cash into a duffle bag and fled on foot. He was caught by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper about 2 blocks away.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Department also provided assistance. Castro was booked into the Columbia County Detention Center with no bond.
Castro had been released from prison on September 15th after serving a previous sentence related to a Manatee County robbery in 2005.
