Man convicted in 2013 attempted murder
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man was convicted Tuesday in a 2013 attempted murder at a Jacksonville apartment complex.
Maurice Javon Jackson, 22, was convicted of attempted murder in the second degree and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
In March 2013, the victim was visiting a friend at the Eureka Gardens apartment complex. As Jackson walked near the victim, he pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the arm.
Jackson faces up to life in prison as a 10/20/Life Offender. He has a 2011 felony conviction for Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile Delinquent Found to Have Committed a Felony. Jackson will be sentenced the week of Oct. 14.
