JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man will get 45 years for a 2012 apartment complex murder.
Jimmie Gardner, 27, was sentenced to 45 years in prison, with a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years, for his involvement in the shooting death of Edward James Williams III. Gardner pleaded guilty to a charge of second degree murder in August.
In September 2012, Gardner and another person shot Williams multiple times. Williams was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex, unresponsive, and was transported to the hospital. Williams later died.
