Man killed by Jeep
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man is dead after police say he walked out into the street and got hit by a car.
David Gowens died from his injuries at Shands Hospital on Tuesday evening.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says he was struck on Hecksher Drive about 7:55 p.m. The driver of the Jeep, 29-year-old Jennifer Wingate, did not suffer any injuries according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Alcohol tests on Gowens are pending.
