JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One person is dead after a fatal car crash in Columbia County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Charles Ray Tidwell, Jr, was driving northbound on NW White Springs near NW Stephen Foster Drive.
Just after 12:30 a.m. Tidwell missed a turn, and went off the west edge of the roadway.
His Nissan then crashed into a tree.
Tidwell, 54 was pronounced dead at the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol says Tidwell, Jr was not wearing a seatbelt.
