Marion County deputies come to aid of donkey
MARION COUNTY, Fla. -- Authorities in Marion County are trying to figure out who the owner of a donkey is after it was found walking down a rural road in eastern Marion County.
Two deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office say they came across the mammal in the 5400 block of SE 180 Avenue Road in Oclawaha, during a recent torrential downpour.
The two began feeding the animal but as soon as they ran out of carrots the donkey reportedly became irritated and unleashed its anger against the patrol car.
A side mirror was ripped off the car during its tantrum.
Pictures of the incident were posted to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page on Sunday.
At last report the donkey was in the custody of animal control.
Deputies say they have yet to find the owner of the animal.
