JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Several riders taking part in a remembrance ride are recovering Saturday, injured in a multi-motorcycle crash on Interstate 95.
Police shutdown lanes of Interstate 95, near the JTB exit, for almost four hours Saturday to investigate the crash and help the four people injured in the crash.
Victims of the crash were taken to several area hospitals.
All were taking part in the remembrance of a Ruff Ryder, who was killed in traffic crash along Fort Caroline Road on November 2nd.
Many of the riders were members of the Ruff Riders organization and were riding for fallen member Ernest "Phantom" Jones. Jones was killed in a traffic crash along Fort Caroline Road on November 2nd. They say they wanted to hold the event for those who couldn't attend the funeral service on Thursday as well as to honor the they was a loyal friend to all. "We wanted to honor him today by making that ride. The community came out today and all the proceeds will go to his family," says fellow rider Brick City.
All injuries are serious but non life-threatening. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
