NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla -- City Hall at Neptune Beach is going to begin using its solar powered electricity. This will take effect on Monday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.

Eighty percent of this project will give more electricity to the City Hall. This funding will save taxpayers $7,000 a year through this solar powered electric system, according to the City of Neptune Beach.

The city received a couple grants. Duval County approved a federal solar energy grant that cost $76,000. Councilman Dick Brown gave another federal grant for $40,000 and that was passed through the Jacksonville City Council District fund, the City of Neptune Beach said.
