Pedestrian killed in Bradford County
STARKE, Fla. -- A New York resident was struck and killed along US Highway 301 in Starke as he tried to the cross the highway near Andrews Street Saturday evening according to troopers.
The Florida Highway Patrol states that a Pontiac car, driven by 60-year-old Anthony Woods, slammed into Bernard Travernia, 66, as he tried to cross the roadway from west to east.
Travernia was transported to Shands at UF hospital where he was pronounced deceased according to the FHP crash report.
No word if any charges will be filed by police.
