Police: Man leaves baby alone with pit bull to go drinking

PALM COAST, Fla.-- Flagler county deputies arrested a man in Palm Coast for leaving his girlfriend's baby home alone with their pet pit bull.

James Irvine, 41, now faces child neglect charges. According to the police report, Irvine denied leaving the baby alone.

He claimed he left the pit bull to watch the child. When Irvine's girlfriend got home from work she found Irvine in the garage trying to get inside. She then found the dog sitting outside of the room and the baby crying.

Irvine told authorities he left the child alone to go drinking at the local bar, McCharacters. Irvine was booked into the Flagler County jail.
