JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Officers arrested a man accused of stealing a boat and leading officers on a chase down the St. Johns River.

Police say 29 year old Joshua Boyles entered the campus of Jones College off Arlington Expressway Wednesday night.

Campus security asked him to leave the campus but instead police say Boyles jumped a fence and climbed onto the roof of a nearby marina.

After smoking a cigarette, police say Boyles jumped down, got into a boat and took off going north on the St. Johns River.

A marine unit stopped him a short time later.

According to the police report, Boyle told police "Jesus gave him the boat." He was arrested and remains in jail Thursday evening.
