JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- Local power companies are working to restore power to the beaches area after an outage left many customers without electricity.

Beaches Energy said on Twitter it is aware of power outages and is working to restore power as soon as possible.

To report an outage, call 904-247-6171.

Mike Barz said the power went out at his house for about an hour.  An Action News viewer said parts of Jacksonville Beach, from Executive Way south went dark.

Just minutes ago, the lights at The Plantation came back on.  All of Sawgrass is dark, according to the Action News viewer.

JEA has 31 customers in Atlantic Beach without power and is working to restore it.  This outage is due to a fallen tree.

Action News has calls into the various utility companies.  Keep it here as new information comes into our newsroom.
