JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Mayor Alvin Brown is helping kick tax season in high gear. Tuesday he helped kick off the Real$ense Prosperity Campaign in Jacksonville.
The mayor participated in a ribbon cutting celebration at the Wells Fargo Springfield Branch on North Main Street. This is the newest center for the Real$ense Prosperity Campaign. Mayor Brown says the goal is to get as much money returned to the taxpayer's as possible. "we're leaving about $10,000,000 dollars in Washington D.C. just in Jax. Our goal with the Real$ense Campaign is to reach out to all those individuals who are eligible for the earned income tax credit."
This is the tenth year in a row the Real Sense Prosperity Campaign has kicked off tax season in Jacksonville. In 2012, the Real Sense Prosperity Campaign tax program helped 16,000 people in the community file their taxes for free, and get more than $22 million in refunds.
