BUNNELL, Fla. -- An internal investigation at the Flagler County Sheriff's Office revealed the department needs to update the way it records employee hours.

The findings are the result of an investigation into a deputy not properly recording his time.

The department found out other employees were doing the same thing.

"The system we have been using is the same one the agency has used for the past two decades," said Sheriff Donald Fleming.

Fleming said the department will focus on providing technology for deputies to do their job on the streets.

The sheriff realized this is an internal problem that the department must address.

The deputy at the center of the investigation was suspended for one day, and received a written reprimand.
