YULEE, Fla. -- New dash cam video was released in the arrest of Nassau County Commissioner Stacy Johnson.
Nassau County Commissioner Stacy Johnson was arrested for DUI and the entire thing was caught on camera. In that profanity-laced rant, Johnson insults deputies and slams her own county.
According to Johnson's attorney, this was no simple arrest. Her lawyer accuses the Nassau County sheriff of setting her up, calling it the latest in an on-going feud. "I'm not afraid. I hate this job. I hate this county. I hate it," said Johnson from the back of a police car.
The sheriff's office released video of Johnson being arrested in her own driveway on a DUI charge over the weekend. "I'll take a sobriety test. I thought I could say no and I'd be ok. I'm telling you right now I'll take a sobriety test. I don't care. I don't want to go to jail. I have three kids. I'll take a sobriety test right now," said Johnson.
Johnson never did take the test. The officer said she couldn't change her mind after saying no the first time. Over the course of the 40 minute dash cam video, you can tell Johnson became increasingly frustrated, even started crying. "I don't even care," said Johnson.
She says the arrest is part of a bigger conspiracy against her. "This is Seagraves at his best. I don't even care," said Johnson.
Johnson was reportedly involved in a fight at Ritz Carlton and then the sheriff said Johnson asked him to cover it up. It's evident from Johnson's tone during the arrest, she knew something like this would happen. "Do you know that I get pulled over like every other night? Do you know that," said Johnson to the deputy. "I get pulled over cause they want something on me...Tommy Seagraves, the 12-year-old with a badge and I'm in the back of a cop car and I don't know what's going on," said Johnson.
Stacy Johnson herself hasn't said much, but did post a response to a Twitter comment that said, "Until you know the whole story shouldn't be so quick to rush to judgment. It has been an honor to serve you."
The state attorney's office is not commenting on the case and all the other commissioners we called, didn't call us back.
