JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- U.S. marshals arrested Andrew Bangerter near Richmond, Va., on Friday.

Bangerter was wanted by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for failure to to comply with sexual predator registration.

Investigators say Bangerter has a violent history of sexual crimes against children in both Florida and New York.

The Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force was contacted by JSO when it was learned that Bangerter was missing and his location was unknown to law enforcement.

Information indicated that Bangerter had fled Florida and was hiding out near Richmond, Va.

Marshals searched the area and located Bangerter sleeping on a bench near a truck stop. The fugitive was arrested without incident and transported to jail.
